Friday.
Yesterday afternoon, Brian and Nathan got home after spending three days in Rochester for this round of appointments.
Everything went well, all the appointments were on time (or early!), everyone was kind and generous. Dr. Johnson was happy to see Nathan and even more happy with his test results and numbers. So happy, in fact, they told Nathan he doesn’t have to come back until the beginning of November!! Woo hoo!!! During that visit, Nathan will have another heart cath to see if the pressure/swelling in his heart has gone down, but we’re hopeful. And really excited to have a SIX WEEK BREAK!
Also, the hotel the guys stayed at had a pool so for the first time in about two years, Nathan got to submerge his entire body, not worry about keeping anything on his body dry, and just be a kid. It was glorious, as you can tell by the picture.
Finally, the Mayo decided to release an internal story about Nathan, NP Marty, and dogs. It’s loosely based on the story KTTC did for their “Kids with Courage” episode, yet it still gives me chills to read. I’m so grateful people are willing to share Nathan’s story while at the same time giving Mayo the props they deserve. We certainly couldn’t have done all this without their amazing team. Nathan continues to do well in school with the help of his supportive teachers and staff. God bless all the people in Nathan’s life who help his life improve.
