Off the vent- Hopefully for good!

Cam was extubated and able to come off the ventillator on December 1st! Yay! He’s doing so well this time. He is still currently on oxygen and they are moving very slowly this time. He is such a strong and happy boy. Cam has been able to sit up in a chair and play with toys. He’s able to move more freely.

We are so ready to bring our baby home and have our whole family under the same roof but we still have a long road ahead of us before that can happen. We will still need to go for our first Heart Cath and biopsy, during that time they will do a procedure to place a balloon to help open up a narrow artery. His doctor is hoping to do this some time in January.

We are currently asking for prayers that Cam’s next transitions go as quick as possible but more importantly safely and smoothly. We will be working on coming off IV medications that he has become dependent on, working on getting formula into his belly (one way or another), and getting Mom and Dad trained on how to be Cam’s caretakers. Once we finally get to come home Mom and Cam will travel back to Little Rock weekly for visits at the Heart Clinic at ACH.

We are so truly blessed and thankful that Cam’s donor family decided to donate their angels organs and give the gift of life to our baby boy.
