Updates, Updates, Updates!

A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks, with changes coming in fast and furious! Rather than posting every five minutes, here’s a brief timeline of all the news that’s fit to blog!

December 28: Fun new guessing game: Can you see what’s different in today’s picture?

That’s right! They removed Cat’s feeding tube today! More progress!!!

January 3:  One of the meds was giving Cat bad nausea, so the team is taking a step back and trying diff combos. But still joy from a cute bun and a new sig on the lungs!

January 4:  Been a tough couple of days as Cat has been dealing with bad nausea, and was put back on the feeding tube to get nutrients while they work on solving the nausea.  Cat’s a fighter though and still got all her walking in!

January 6: Today Cat will have a surgical procedure to address transplant-related nerve damage to her pyloric sphincter, which they think is causing the nausea. Been a rough few days for her, but hopefully this does the trick!

Despite this challenge, Cat continues to work hard on her walking, setting a new record of 17 laps two days ago, and another 9 yesterday.  In the downtime, her aunt sent her a lovely collection of Twain essays that her mom’s been reading to her.

January 7: This is the three week anniversary of when Cat first got The Call. So much has happened since then!

Dr says the procedure yesterday was successful and Cat was able to have some clear liquids today. Even better? 18 laps around the floor, which = a MILE!! There’s now a sign on her door celebrating the new record!

January 9: NO MORE TUBES!!! HOORAY!!!
