COTA for Dana

Our Story

Dana Tapia has Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) and is in need of a liver. She is currently on the transplant waitlist. 

Receiving this donated liver would significantly reduce the risk of a metabolic crisis which would mitigate the possibility of brain damage. In her lifetime, Dana has had a strict diet limiting her consumption of protein to avoid life threatening outcomes. By receiving a liver transplant, it will improve Dana’s quality of life significantly meaning she could have a normal diet and will lower the risk of any life threatening issues.
