On October 11th, 2025 – Desi received his kidney transplant! The procedure took place in Phoenix Children’s Hospital and went smoothly. He was expected to remain in hospital for 7 to 10 days but progressed so quickly that he was released after just a few-days stay.

Desi is now recuperating at home and will need to stay isolated for the next three months to avoid any complications from infection. He’s on a rigid regimen of medication and all indications show he’s staying on track!

On his release, his medical team gave him a going-away-keep-getting-well parade!
