Unfortunately, Dylan experienced another catastrophic internal bleed on Sunday, November 24th. She is currently in the pediatric ICU at Stanford. Dylan just wasn’t feeling well on Sunday, and could tell something was off. Eventually her blood pressure dropped and her heart started racing in an attempt to compensate. This was really scary for her and everyone else.

Her mother Sarah took her to the local Redding ER, where they were able to give her some medication, fluids, and blood transfusions to bring up her pressure. Her hemoglobin was very low, and her platelets were also low. Her symptoms were similar to her previous bleeding episodes.
The doctors at Stanford once again wanted her life flighted down there. Dylan and her mom boarded a medevac plane. Dylan’s aunt Danielle is an ER charge nurse in Sacramento, and has spent as much time as possible with Dylan throughout this journey, especially during her hospitalizations. Danielle drove down and was able to meet them when they arrived at Stanford.
Dylan is currently undergoing tests and scans to assess the bleeding and many other things. She continues to wait for her liver transplant, and everyone was hoping that would occur before Dylan experienced another serious internal bleeding episode.
For now, the best thing you can do to help is to keep Dylan and her loved ones close to your heart. And please consider donating to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in Dylan’s name. 100% of each contribution to COTA for Dylan is available for her lifetime of transplant-related expenses.
