Strong at Heart!

This weeks been an insane one, but our Ethy was cleared by his Cardiologist!!
If you’ve been following along with Ethan’s life story, you might remember that a little over a year ago Ethan went into Cardiac Arrest and we nearly lost him.
Because of this event and Ethan’s general trend of low blood pressures and heart rates, he’s been closely monitored by cardiology.
However, after a normal Holter Monitor (monitors Heart patterns for an extended period of time), multiple normal repeat EKGs, and a recent trend of low-normal heart rates cardiology is confident that the arrest was not directly heart related.
As long as his heart rates remain at a healthy level we no longer have to follow up with a heart doctor, which takes away one specialty from Ethan’s long roster of doctor friends.
Saying goodbye to a specialty is something to be celebrated but it’s also really anxiety inducing.
Being strong enough to agree to ending follow ups and choosing to work towards less doctors appointments for my boy, despite a slightly increased risk, was really difficult and was a really big win for me.
