The 2nd week in April Christy has some friends surprise and visit her:

This weekend, friends from my first year of grad school came to visit me. We all were from different programs, only met through housing, and we haven’t seen each other for 17 YEARS. One friend from Maine, one from California, and one from Belgium all made the trek to Rochester for a surprise visit!! It was immediately like we were back to our old selves, and it was something I (we all) desperately needed. Even when I was in dialysis, they got matching tattoos and came back with the template so I can get mine when I’m able, post transplant!

So much love for Cindy van der Kroef , Robin Riley, and June Garrett . I miss you all already and I hope it isn’t another 17 years til next time.

Christy was then paid a visit by her brother, sister in law and niece and nephew. Fun times including breakfast, bowling, lunch and dinner!

However all that activity ran her down:

I had such a great time with my friends and my niece and nephew that I developed a cold. BUT we caught it fast and early. So I’m in for a 2 week “tune up”- this time it’s actually for my lungs.
