This is a very hot week for an intrastate bicycle ride across Iowa, but Chapin + Alexa have persevered. They are getting up early and on the tandem before 5:00am and riding about 80 miles in the hot sun on the pavement. Today was 90 miles from Des Moines to Toledo. If you have the chance send them a smiley face for their ride to cheer them on, do it!
WHAT IS RAGBRAI
RAGBRAI stands for Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is more than just a bike ride, it is an epic eight-day rolling festival of bicycles, music, food, camaraderie, and community. It is the oldest, largest, and longest multi-day bicycle touring event in the world.
Chapin Bryce + Alexa Giovannini were inspired to ride their tandem bicycle across Iowa because of the seed planted by Hank’s parents Anika and Rob. Ani and Rob [Joan and Charlie too…] were all registered for RAGBRAI during the summer of 2020, but their event was canceled due to the global pandemic.
As a thoughtful surprise, Chapin + Alexa would like to dedicate this ride in honor of COTA for Hank. Any and all donations made to COTA for Hank will support a lifetime of transplant expenses. Watch their ride here at https://ragbrai.com/. #HangwithHankRoy

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
