At 20 weeks pregnant, we learned of Logan’s congenital heart defect. Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome is a lifelong condition, where the left side of the heart does not form adequately in the early phases of gestation. Considered a “sporadic birth defect,” HLHS has no known cause or cure.
