It’s amazing that the last time I posted on this blog, Isaac had been waiting for his heart for 7 months. At that point, we were wrestling with the reality that Isaac may have to wait another 5 months for his heart and start yet another school year on the transplant list. Little did we know, just a few weeks later, he would receive the call for a heart that was an incredible match! The timing could not have been more perfect.

Today marks exactly 7 months since Isaac’s transplant! We are praising God for his provision, for Isaac’s incredible recovery, for zero rejection, for no illnesses contracted due to his weakened immune system, for starting his Sophomore year of high school in person, and for “living life” with virtually no limitations. And we praise God for YOU! For your prayers, your calls and texts, your cards and visits, your food and gifts, for continuing to inquire about his progress. This journey was remarkably smooth, and much of that is due to your love and care.

Isaac celebrates a big birthday on February the 1st. This semester, he is really looking forward to finally getting a job, as well as finishing out his school year with great grades! This year Isaac joined the bowling team and had a blast. He will continue his archery season through the spring and is looking forward to summer camp!
So what’s next for him medically? Isaac’s labs and appointments are being spaced farther apart as we get closer to the one-year mark. His last heart cath was in November. He will have a heart clinic at the beginning of February, which includes some tests and scans and a visit with his doctors. Lord willing, his next appointment will be his one year heart cath in May!
