We wanted to share a quick update on our little guy.The doctors are currently treating this as bronchiolitis. The swabs from Union came back negative for RSV, influenza A & B, and COVID. Riley also did a more extensive respiratory swab today, and we’re happy to share that it came back negative as well.

One of the saving graces is his saline spray! Being able to spray and clear his nose has helped him breathe a little easier, and he’s been taking his bottles fairly well today, which we’re so thankful for.His breathing is still heavier than normal, but it has remained steady. He seems less comfortable in different positions, so the team was keeping a close eye on him.

We were all ready to settle in for another night but the best news is that Jaime is getting to head home! The doctors are happy with his oxygen, feeding and breathing. They feel that his saline spray and suctioning can be managed at home, where he’ll hopefully be much more comfortable in familiar surroundings.

We’re so thankful for the wonderful care he’s received at Riley and are looking forward to getting our sweet boy home to continue recovering.

Thank you all for the prayers, messages, and support over the past couple of days. Please continue to keep Jaime in your thoughts as he heals. We’re hopeful that with lots of rest, snuggles, and continued saline and suctioning, he’ll be feeling more like himself very soon. 💙
