Our Story

Hello, everyone. My name is Destiny Coleman .I am a proud mother of 3 hyper ,energized ,total all boy boys. With the expectancy of another beautiful baby boy on the way. .Wednesday January 18, 2023 I was 36 weeks and 6 days ,waking up to my last check up. We had an obgyn appointment and a normal routine ultrasound we were expecting to go into this appointment and not leave and have our baby because I was having blood pressure issues but the ultrasound tech seen something wrong so she called in another tech and then they both told us to go back out into the lobby and wait for the nurse to call us back to see the doctor and he said there was something wrong with his heart, he sent us to a specialist at a different doctors office the same day. That specialist done another ultrasound and he said there was definitely something wrong with his heart and he called another doctor to get me set up to go to them to find out what was wrong with his heart. Thursday January 19th we left out headed  for Little Rock and had an appointment with the doctor Friday the 20th. When we arrived at the appointment I

had another ultrasound and it lasted about 3 or 4 hours several different doctors had to come in and do their own ultrasound. Finally the doctors were done and they took me and our immediate family to a room where they told us Jaxson has severe aortic stenosis and he had a 30% chance of life survival rate . They made me hold off on delivering until I was 38 weeks which was January 26th. Leading up to that day I had to go in for non stress tests and they heavily monitored him until the 26th. I went in that morning and had him at 12:54pm. After he was born they let me see him for a second then put catheters through his umbilical cord ,undergoing the procedure of putting a balloon in for the left side ventricle. During that whole process, the CVICU team at Children’s Hospital has been amazing at working to keep Jaxson stable . As the days went by ,Jaxson got sicker and sicker . Finally they came in to tell me He needs a heart transplant, they’ve done all they can medically do. It’s been almost 3 months now and Jaxson is now on the Berlin waiting for a new heart. Each day is a challenge but we have come this far and so has Jaxson. He is my little warrior. As each day goes by we pray for a new heart and for him to overcome all this . God has guided him this far and I know that He will continue to guide him thru this
