We Need a Miracle

Jayce

If you believe in Christmas miracles this little guy can sure use one. With the HLHS the left side of his heart never developed and now the right side is starting to diminish. We can use lots of prayers and positive thoughts. Should find out more later today/early tomorrow what the next steps are but looks like ecmo or bypass while waiting on the berlin heart will be the next option

Jayce got an echo this morning and it showed that the functioning part of his heart became severly diminished. He was born with half of it not working at all and now the only half that works is giving up.

Once the results came in so many nurses came by looking in with sympathetic looks and talking to him more than usual. Really puts it into perspective. More than just telling me his heart is giving up, but actually seeing how serious that is when all the ICU comes to see him and love on him too.

I have yet to process any of this. We knew jayce would be getting a Berlin heart… but we have fast tracked to getting a temporary mechanical intervention and I haven’t slept more than 6 hours in the last 3 days. The pit of my stomach has the worst feeling about this outcome and I’m hoping my fear is misplaced.
