Jonah’s Journey | Post 16

It’s the evening before transplant. Sean and Jonah are making their room at Georgetown feel like a temporary home while Danielle and her sister, Kerry, spend the night at a local hotel before an early morning pre-op admission. We wanted to share a few fun things before tomorrow and also what to expect as far as updates during the recovery period. Here we go!
We recently updated our blog/social media with a logo for Jonah’s Journey. Perhaps you noticed the use of a dove in the green liver disease awareness ribbon. What’s up with that? “Jonah” is a Hebrew name that means dove. In scripture, a dove is a symbol of hope and peace in God’s promises, and the physical presence of the Holy Spirit. When naming both our boys, selecting a name with a rich meaning was important to us. We never anticipated such deep connection to the meanings. Nothing we are experiencing through this journey is by chance. It is all part of God’s perfect plan and infinite love for us. Though we may not understand the purpose of this journey, nor may it be just for us, we have hope and assurance that God is with us and will carry us through.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
In addition to the logo updates, we also started an apparel store to help spread awareness of Biliary Atresia and connect others to Jonah’s Journeys as a testament of God’s promises. www.bonfire.com/store/Jonahs-ba-journey
For our initial launch, orders are shipped on demand so they can get in your hands sooner — this also means slightly higher prices based on units sold each day. Any profit or incremental donations are received from the orders, we will use the funds for any uncovered transplant-related expenses. If you have questions, suggestions, etc. please let us know! And a big thanks to those who have already ordered — please be sure to tag us in a picture of you and your swag. Note: following hospitalization, we will be working to partner with a non-profit so that donations are managed by them and funds are available to Jonah for any transplant-related expenses for life.
Finally, for updates on surgery day and the next few days, Kerry will be posting to the Jonah’s Journey Facebook page: www.Facebook.com/jonahsbajourney
Please continue praying for the medical teams, Jonah and Danielle’s recovery, Sean and Caleb’s strength and comfort, and for God to receive all the glory!
