Our Story
As of 06/26/2019, Kha’Iisland started liver rejection for the first time following transplant. She is currently still in-patient and undergoing infusion treatments. Her family is trying to cope with the stress of being with her and maintaining the household for her sibling. Because of the treatments she’s receiving, she will be on 6 months home isolation — no daycare or leaving the house due to her being severely immuno-compromised. They are currently denying any in-home care services, so caregivers will be unable to work for 6 months fml without pay. We have partnered with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) for assistance with transplant-related expenses. Please consider donating to COTA in honor of Kha’Iisland.
COTA helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
