We have some big news! Nicole Gunter received her labs back and she is a compatible blood match for Layla! We still have to wait to hear back about the rest of her labs, but this was one very big step forward! If everything else looks good, she will be able to continue on to SLC for the imaging and final testing.

On Tuesday, Layla and I got to have lunch with Nicole. Layla was much more social with Nicole than she usually is with people new in her life. It was so fun to watch this new friendship between them grow.

There are very few people in this world who have the type of bravery and selflessness that it takes to give this type of gift. Nicole is humble and gracious and loving and one of the best human beings I have ever met. She has the calmest and most easy going demeanor that is contagious. Her being Layla’s donor fills me with peace.

I’ve never been able to adequately put into words to Nicole how much her offer means. How do you adequately thank the person who is literally giving a new life to your child, allowing them to live a full and healthy life. We will spend the rest of our life filled with gratitude for this amazing woman with the biggest heart. We love you Nicole!
