All jokes aside, I’m so happy that I have finally completed all the necessary testing to determine if I will officially be Layla’s liver donor. It’s been a long 2 days in Salt Lake with lots of tests, pokes, and meetings with doctors. As long as all results come back normal, I should be getting a call in the next week to set a surgery date. All of the support, prayers and kind words have been felt and is so appreciated. The surgeon let me know that potential donors who go through this process that do not have a support system at home are denied from donating. So I literally wouldn’t be able to do this without all of the support that has been given. My heart is so full! And I only hope that as surgery gets closer, prayers will continue, especially for Layla and her parents, whose lives will be forever changed ❤️
