Our Story
Madelyn was born with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia. Meaning she was born without her bile ducts fully forming. It wasn’t caught until she was just shy of 3 months old, that’s when they decided to do a procedure called the “Kasai” to try and help her. For a while, the procedure seemed to be working and she was doing good. When she was about to be 8 months old, she got Cholangitis (a severe infection in one’s bile ducts) causing her to be hospitalized for a week. That’s when we started the process of getting her on the transplant list. We have all of the pre-evaluation process done. She is officially on the list and waiting on a new liver. Despite everything Madelyn has been through she smiles and laughs every single day. She is our little sunshine. And we are so thankful for all the donations and prayers to help us through this difficult time!
