Superdad

Saturday morning I’m a little delayed on the update, I apologize for that. I came home with Wyatt last night because he really needed a break from hospital life. The plan is for him to be home now so he can attend school and try to be somewhat normal. Marshall continues to do well with his recovery. We are so blessed to have my husband and Marshall’s dad, Joe, up there with him. If you take how much I advocate for Marshall and multiply that times a million you might come close to how much he protects and looks out for his son. After almost being put off to wait another day to get the breathing tube out because the CICU docs we’re busy until late yesterday Joe was able to to convince the night shift attending doctor to review Marshall’s case and take the tube out. Marshall is now awake, watching movies, and able to speak a little tiny bit but his voice is very fragile. He is not allowed any food or water yet. They are still looking at his kidney numbers to see if he is going to need some temporary dialysis, hopefully we hear something in rounds this morning. Marshall is so incredible, he is trying so hard to be cooperative, calm, and patient with everything that is going on. He did get another chest tube take out yesterday and so slowly but surely he’s getting all his equipment removed. We have been so amazed at the outpouring of support from our community, it makes Marshall so happy when I tell him how many people are praying for him and cheering him on. And when I think about the generosity of our donor hero my heart gets so full and I am so eternally grateful that the stars aligned for my little boy to accept their precious gift.
