A good little update on Mars, he is continuing to get a little stronger and feel a little better each day. His clinic visit at the end of last week went really well and we saw his favorite doctor, Dr. Feingold. The doc was so happy to see how good Marshall looks! The struggle currently is with this darn super low fat diet, only being allowed 4 grams of fat per day for six weeks is no easy task, especially for a bunch of foodies like us! This diet will help Marshall’s lymphatic vessels heal correctly. Today marks only two more weeks until we can start increasing his daily fat grams… It is surreal to realize we are at this point in his transplant journey, the treacherous surgery and post-op recovery behind us. With the beautiful weather we’re having we are glad to keep moving forward with Marshall’s recovery and get him back to fighting weight in time to enjoy a great spring/summer. All these plans for the future we look forward to with the utmost gratitude and respect for his donor hero.
