Our Story

Miracle is a bright, smart, and fun-loving 12-year-old whose beautiful personality can light up any room and melt anyone’s heart. Miracle loves to paint, play her piano, and spend time with family and friends. Despite facing challenges far beyond her years, Miracle continues to show incredible strength, courage, and resilience every single day.

On May 5, 2022, Miracle was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called C3 Glomerulonephritis (C3GN). After undergoing a kidney biopsy, doctors discovered dense deposits in Miracle’s kidneys that caused severe glomerular scarring. This damage has made it difficult for Miracle’s kidneys to properly filter waste and fluids from her body, while also causing large amounts of protein to leak into her blood. Miracle continues to struggle with fluid retention, and after being diagnosed, Miracle also experienced seizures, adding even more challenges to her journey.

Since her diagnosis, Miracle has endured countless treatments, medications, procedures, and frequent hospital stays. Throughout her hospitalizations and treatments, Miracle has remained a straight-A student who continues to excel academically while participating in extracurricular activities she loves, including the forensics team, Beta Club, and MathCounts. Through it all, Miracle has remained strong and hopeful, continuing to fight this difficult battle with a smile and a spirit that inspires everyone around her.

A kidney transplant would give Miracle the chance to regain her strength, improve her health, and experience the freedom every child deserves. With a successful transplant, Miracle would be able to enjoy life more fully and continue pursuing her dreams. Miracle hopes to become a lawyer when she grows up, and a transplant would help give her the opportunity to focus on her future and all the amazing things she is capable of achieving.

If you would like to donate a kidney to Miracle or determine if you are a match for Miracle, please contact Miracle’s living donor coordinator, Dawn Louis, for more information.

We have partnered with COTA for assistance with transplant-related expenses. Please consider donating financially to COTA for Miracle’s Journey. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
