Enjoying childhood life

Nang Tawng Lahpai, who received a new kidney from her mother which was transplanted on 21st August 2023 at the University of Maryland Medical Center, is evolving positively, after some hiccups that required some follow up at the hospital for some days. Now she is able to eat on her own by mouth and not depending on tube feeding. This is making her life much easier and normalizing her routines at home.
During the last months, she has been receiving educational support with a home teacher who supports her in her studies, as she cannot yet attend school; something she is really looking for. Doctors have recommended her, to stay at home most of the time while the cold winter in Maryland is still there. So, she will continue having classes at home until Spring. Nevertheless, she can gradually enjoy life as a child, even for brief moments playing with the snow together with her siblings.
Thanks to the kidney transplant, care and love of medical staff, family, friends and supporters, Nang Tawng is recovering a normalized childhood.
