It’s been 4 months since Ollie got his miracle heart.
3 weeks ago we officially brought him home to our tiny blue house.
In that time we’ve (mostly) been soaking in the gratitude of seeing our little man in his own room, having him under our own roof, and sleeping in our own bed.
We won’t lie and say it hasn’t been chaos. But it’s been the kind of chaos I think every parent prays for when they bring home their baby.
It’s odd to be having all the firsts that “normal” parents go through within 3 days of having their little one but with a 10 month old baby.
Putting him in his own crib.
Waking up with him each day (or 12 times each night…).
Walking around the block with him.
But we have done our best to soak up each one.
It’s a stark contrast to where we were 4 months ago. Or heck, even 2 months ago. Celebrating Christmas on the floor of a hospital room.
And we just thank the Lord that He got us through all of that and brought us here.
Today, on his 4 month heart-iversary we got to take our Ollie Man to the ocean and dunk his feet in the water.
A moment we dreamt of before he was even alive.
It was a beautiful day and such a beautiful experience for us.
We don’t take any of it for granted.
And we want you all to know that we are thinking of you and so thankful for each and every one of you who sacrificed for us, worked hard for us, and blessed us along this journey.
We cannot even begin to express how much your kindness has allowed us to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that our little man can get the care that he needs.
We have been blessed beyond measure and we thank you all and the precious Lord Jesus every day.
Love love love,
– The Paytons
