Overall, the last 24 hours have been a success! We got up early this morning for Rae’s first outpatient appointment at Masonic Childrens. During this appointment they drew blood for lab work, checked on Rae’s status, went over what to expect in the near future, and answered questions we had after day 1 at home.
Nicole and I were also trained on how to deliver Rae’s nutrition through her central line, and if needed medications as well. The big risk with this is contaminating the supplies since the line goes right to her heart. Please pray that we do a good job prepping the stuff, and keeping it sterile.
Great News:
Rae’s blood work looked great during today’s visit. We were scheduled for an additional follow up tomorrow that we can now skip. Her next appointment won’t be until Friday. We actually get some full days at home!!
Prayer Needs:
- Araeya’s bone marrow continues to produce the cells needed to rebuild her immune system abundantly.
- The better her bone marrow produces the cells, the less check-up appointments we need to attend.
- The faster the cells are produced, and her immune system rebuilds, the sooner she can be removed from restrictions.
- She has goals to attend Womens retreat for church in late April, prom activities in early May, and a family camping trip with friends in late May
- Nicole and I prepare the nutrition and medication correctly to keep it sterile. Any infection will mean instant admission back to the hospital, and drastically slow her immune system recovery.
- Araeya can continue to increase her eating so she will no longer need her nutrition through her central line.
- This will greatly reduce her risk of infection. Also, it causes her stress and anxiety, so she would like to be able to eat normally again.

As always, a sincere thank you for all of your encouragement, support, and especially your prayers!!

Araeya, So glad you are home,. I hope you accomplish all your goals. I continue to pray for you. God will bring you through this. God bless you! Many of us are praying for you from OakHaven church.
