Praise be to God that we are counting blessings for so many reasons this year!

Obviously Reese’s diagnosis was devastating and terrifying bringing all kinds of negative emotions and questions about his future and quality of life, but because his daddy was a match, and due to the great liver team and surgeons, Reese’s future seems very bright and we are so thankful!

His Liver Clinic appointments were stretched out to once a month. So we made the overnight trip to Chicago last week for clinic. Once again, his Liver Team Doctors were very pleased with his progress. Reese had to endure an ultrasound (not an easy task for a very active 10 month old to lay still) but doctors say all seems well on the inside, everything is still sutured/connected and flowing. They did replace one of his anti-rejection medications hoping to lower some numbers a little bit but didn’t seem overly concerned as they say numbers can remain high for the first year. Reese is still getting 10 medications a day, getting labs drawn every 2 weeks, and will go back to Chicago for Clinic in December. Daddy had labs drawn on this trip also and all is going well for him too, praise be to God!

We are so thankful that we can breathe a little easier, and we are cautiously looking forward to enjoying the upcoming Holiday Season and… starting to plan his First Birthday party coming up on January 4th!
