First of all, Reese is doing absolutely amazing! For the first time since his transplant on August 7th, 2024 all of his blood levels came back within normal range! His doctors and liver team are very impressed with his overall health and development as well! And to top all of that great news, Reese won’t need to go back to Chicago for lab work and liver clinic appointments for 3 months!!
Reese is still taking anti-rejection medications twice daily but it has been such a relief to get down to just these few medications. He has had several typical colds and ear infections recently, but Mom and Dad are constantly on high alert for any symptoms of rejection. Although the anxiety and being on high alert for these things will never go away, it seems like we can now focus a little more on his normal toddler developments and achievements!
Reese loves to sing and dance (especially Wheels on the Bus and If You’re Happy and You Know It), his monkey stuffed animal, and playing with his cousins, and his best friend, Sadie, the family Golden Retriever. He is becoming more independent everyday and is always wanting to help Mom and Dad with everything they do. Every milestone he reaches is a reminder of his incredible strength and how far we have come. Thank you all for your continued support and interest in Reese’s journey!
