We wanted to share a little update on Sabrina.
Overall, things continue to look stable, which is exactly what we’re hoping for right now. Her heart function is still around 21%, so that part hasn’t changed—but one really encouraging thing we’re seeing is her BNP continuing to trend down.
BNP is a lab that helps measure how much stress the heart is under. Sabrina’s is now the lowest it’s ever been, which tells us that even though her heart isn’t functioning normally, her body is what doctors call “well compensated.” Basically, her other organs are working really well alongside her heart, and her body is handling things better than it was before.
Because of how stable she’s been, her team feels comfortable spacing her labs from weekly to every other week, which is a big win (less blood draws and less accessing her central line ).
She’s also been gaining weight, which is huge for her, and she was SO happy at her appointment—lots of smiles, giggles, and personality.![]()
Heart transplant is still the path forward for Sabrina. We talked with her heart failure team today about timeline, and it’s still considered realistic—maybe a little hopeful—to plan for around two years at 1B. That status is a strange place to be… it means she’s stable and doing well, but it also means she’s not at the top of the list.
So for now, we just keep doing what we’ve been doing—keeping her stable, healthy, happy, and growing. And trusting that when the time is right—whether that’s a year from now or a few years from now—we’ll get to the next step.
Thank you all for continuing to follow along, support us, and love on Sabrina ![]()
