One year ago today, Sabrina was approved for the heart transplant list.

A whole year of waiting for something we desperately want her to never need.

That’s the strange reality we live in—hoping the call comes if she needs it, while hoping with everything we have that her own heart keeps fighting and the call never has to come at all.

We’ve spent this year learning how to live in the light while knowing the darkness is always close. To laugh loudly, celebrate every little thing, and let ourselves hope even when hope feels terrifying.
