We got the news today that Sabrina has been approved as Status 1A again. Her transplant status is reviewed every two weeks, and every time it feels like we’re holding our breath. We’ve also been told that at some point she could be downgraded to 1B — and while 1B still means she needs a heart, the wait for a donor is typically much, much longer.

So as hard as it is to say out loud, we want her to stay at 1A. It gives her the best chance of receiving a heart as soon as possible. Today, we get to celebrate that win. We have 1A status for the next two weeks, and we just keep hoping like hell for ongoing stability and the ultimate gift.

Sabrina also had another echo yesterday. The results remain the same — and as gut-wrenching as it is to hear “unchanged” when all we want is improvement, stable truly is a good thing. It means her heart isn’t getting worse. So we’re celebrating that, too.

The best part of this week is that Sabrina has been feeling good. Yesterday I stepped out to grab a coffee, and when I came back she was giggling with a whole crew of nurses just hanging out with her. They absolutely adore her. Their love and care make these long days easier, but as wonderful as they are, we cannot wait for the day when we have our girl home — when our whole family can finally be under one roof again.

Please keep hoping with us. 💜
