Lung Transplant Evaluation Testing

My regular CF doctor wanted me to be seen by my transplant hospital (Barnes-Jewish in St. Louis, MO) because I’ve had 2 hospital admissions this year and my lung function has dropped some. I went to see my transplant team a few weeks ago. They wanted me to redo all the transplant evaluation testing since it had been since 2016. After 2 full days of appointments I saw the transplant doctor. It was determined that I am still not ready to be listed for lung transplant just yet. It was good to get all my testing up to date which would make getting me listed quickly much easier if I had a rapid decline. That way we wouldn’t be backtracking trying to get all the testing done to make sure I qualify for transplant when I would need to be focused on getting listed ASAP. I will be seen every 6 months by my transplant team at Barnes-Jewish to stay up to date.

I’m sorry that I haven’t been good at updating here. I do update my blog (www.cfhappens.com) with all my health updates. I will be better at posting here as well.

Thank you for all your support. It’s much appreciated!

Until next time…
