4/21/21 Update

It’s hard to believe we have been back home for 3 weeks. We headed back to Pittsburgh yesterday for a return visit with the transplant team. We met with Dr.Molinari and he says Alyssa is doing amazing. The highlights from yesterday visit.
-They reduced/adjusted some medication. Hopefully this will help with her stomach issues
– She only has to have labs once a week!
-Her incision looks great( pictures at a later post)
-She is clear to return to school in the fall! (She will actually be closer to Pittsburgh at WVU than she is at our house in Charles Town).
-By chance we ran into our favorite ICU nurse Rachel! ( highlight of Alyssa’s day).
-Our next visit isn’t until the end of June.( unless there is any issues)
Being at home has been the best medicine. All the texts, deliveries, meals and visits have been greatly appreciated.
While Alyssa does have off days she is having more better days lately. She has been researching liver transplant surgery and Wilson’s Disease. I have already scheduled appointments for Nick and Landon with genetics specialist.
Alyssa has also been working with the faculty and staff at WVU about starting a plan of action for her return to campus this fall! The faculty, advisors and staff at WVU have been amazing! We even received a personal letter from the President of the University, Dr. Gordon Gee! He is so awesome! We are so thankful to be apart of the Mountaineer Family. #mountaineers #letsgo
Thank you to everyone who purchased a #AlyssaStrong shirt. We can’t wait for them to come in and see everyone in them! Please share pictures!!
We are excited to kick off our next fundraiser to benefit COTA for team Alyssa. Be sure to join the Facebook group, Team Alyssa for all the details! Www.COTAforTeamAlyssa.com
Alyssa wanted to share the spotlight with the other girls in the house. So here we are! Everyone meet Livie Lou! ( named after Liver and to be able to “Live”) name credit to Rachel, our favorite ICU nurse!
Thank you for the continued prayers and love
