Our Story

March 4, 2019 my son at the time was 4 months old was having respiratory failure and was told he would need to be intubated a few moments later my son went into cardiac arrest. When they brought him back they notice he had an abnormality in his heart rhythm and had to do an echo to see what was going on. While conducting the echo they found a massive tumor in his left ventricle pumping chamber the doctors were shocked they never seen this kind of mass before and especially where it was located, while they were observing my son went into cardiac arrest again.  Was told to save my sons life he needed to be put on ecmo so I signed the paper and surgery was going to happen, while they were preparing my son went i to cardiac arrest again and this time it was harder to bring him back. Surgery was done and I was then I was told my son is needing a heart transplant. We also, advised that they needed to transport my son to Phoenix while he was on ecmo and it was scary. We made it happend and he was transferred . We are now at the Phoenix children’s hospital waiting for a heart. My son August is 7 months old. Please any donations to COTA in honor of August would be greatly appreciated. Updates will be available soon. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
