My son, Collin, is 19 years old and one of the hardest working, most caring people I know. Over the past year, he has faced a battle no young person should ever have to endure — cancer. Through every appointment, treatment, setback, and long hospital stay, Collin has shown incredible strength and determination.
Even while fighting for his health, he has continued to think about others first. He stays positive for the people around him, shows gratitude to his doctors and nurses, and never loses the kind heart that makes him so special. His courage through chemotherapy and now a bone marrow transplant has inspired everyone who knows him.
This journey has been physically and emotionally exhausting, but Collin continues to push forward with resilience and hope. At only 19 years old, he has handled challenges that many adults would struggle to face. We are so proud of the young man he is — hardworking, compassionate, and unbelievably strong.
As he recovers from his bone marrow transplant, we are praying for healing, strength, and brighter days ahead. Collin’s fight is not over, but neither is his spirit.
Thank you all for your love and kindness.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
