We just found out tonight that Daniel is sick with flu like symptoms. They have swabbed him and done blood cultures from his line and from his arm. The initial swabs were negative for flu but there have been many false negatives within the first 24 hours this year. Please pray that he gets over this illness soon and safely.
1. Prayer that it isn’t the flu. He had one negative swab; however, it was early so I’ll encourage another tomorrow. He has had fever >101, heart rates 120’s, general aching.
2. Prayer that he can physically get through the symptoms and continue with schoolwork.
3. Prayer that he stays relatively healthy because he generally doesn’t eat and drink well when he is really sick and lack of fluids directly affects his hearts ability to have good output.
4. Wisdom for the staff taking care of him and the decisions guiding his care. I’ll be reaching out to them via email and hope to talk with them more tomorrow.
5. Praise that he hasn’t had any difficulty swallowing since his last dilation. Hopefully this is a problem that is resolving.
6. Tina is supposed to fly up next week to spend some time with him please pray for our hectic crazy schedules and the distance between us and him. Prayer to trust in God’s providence.
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
