Happy New Year & 16 Months old!!

Hello everyone,

We hope the new year finds everyone in good health. Jason is doing really well, we had a calm and quiet New Year. Jason had a g tube placed in November and we had to stay in the hospital a couple days after because his intestines were a little slow waking up. But he is doing really well now and starting to eat more foods and drink from a sippy cup.

He is also starting to say more words and loves to be outside. We probably go outside to watch the trucks go by our house 5 times a day. He loves going for walks in his push car and wagon. He plays chase in the house and is able to reach the door handles now. He is growing and turning into a toddler right in front of our eyes.

We are still going to doctors and speech therapy visits at least once a month. He has also had a hard time getting into a therapeutic dose range for his anti rejection medication so we are having to get a lot of labs done. Hopefully we get that under control soon.

Mommy and Daddy will both be getting into a more normal work schedule after we get our COVID vaccinations so it will be a time of adjusting. Mommy had to reduce her work hours so that we won’t have to have people watching Jason as we can’t take him to daycare or have babysitters due to COVID. We are also seeing how important insurance is with all of the expenses at the first of the year before meeting deductibles and out of pocket maximum expenses.

We are so grateful for your support and your donations to COTA in honor of Jason. It is an immense help knowing COTA can help with our transplant-related bills and medical expenses.

Thank you all and Happy New Year.

Happy New Year!
