Breathe December 2021 Trip To The University Of Maryland Transplant Center

December 2021 Trip To The University Of Maryland Transplant Center

It was great to meet my new future transplant team. It seems I’m doing well enough to still be on hold for a transplant for now. However they are waiting very cautiously for the that day when I will need my transplant.

Thanks to the miricle drug Trikafta it has brought my lung function into the 30% range. The team told me if it dips down to the 20% range again they will be ready. My doctors still try to keep ahead of the bacteria in my lungs called MRSA. It’s current resisdence, there are only two high powered antibiotics known to man kind that can keep it from growing and consuming the rest of my lungs. I hope the day will anytime soon when this bacteria becomes resident to those two antibiotcs. The doctors tell me it is only a matter of time.

My life is not normal, but it is my life, always fighting this evil diease. It robs people of oxygen to breathe and fill their lungs. I would not know what to do if I could breathe 100% again. But, till then I’m taking every minute I have to enjoy the life I have with my soulmate Erika. I’m truly blessed to have her in my life, fighting this diease as a team.

I feel very blessed to have the doctors at INOVA Fairfax Hospital ,The University Of Maryland Tranplant Team and COTA. The continued support from COTA has helped me continue on this transplant journey. I want to thank everyone for your donations to my COTA For Team Jimmy transplant fund. We are still hoping to reach our goal with continued fundraising.

Just breathe and think of others that can’t, every breath is a blessing.

Jimmy
