Hope For The New Year 2022
It was a great trip in December to the University Of Maryland Transplant Center. I got to meet some new doctors added to my team. This visit was was also great because I had my soulmate for life Erika with me. We are a team now fighting this ugly disease called cystic fibrosis.
The visit was a great one.. I learned that because of the new drug I’m on called Trikafta my lung function has risen and is in the high 30% range. The transplant team told me we would remain on hold for now, but if it dips down into the 20s like it did before ,they will be ready. My fight agaisnt the antibiotic resitant bacteria in my lungs called MRSA continues. My doctors have informed me they are down to only two antibiotcs in their arsenal to fight this deadly bacteria. I have always remained hopeful and I will continue to as this journey continues. I never take a breath for granted and I will never give up this fight.
I’m truly blessed and greatful to the doctors and nurses at INOVA Fairfax Hospital Transplant Center and The University Of Maryland Transplant Center. I’m also very grateful for the support COTA has given to me on this journey. I still hope one day we can reach the goal for COTA For Team Jimmy . To all of you that have helped along the way I’m truly grateful and blessed to have such support.
Just breathe,
Jimmy
