Our Story

Jordan is an amazing, respectful, goal-oriented and loving 12-year-old boy. He works hard in school being an advanced program honor roll student. He also participates in his school basketball team, football team, track and has been on a swimming team. He was recently diagnosed with a rare condition called Aplastic Pancytopenia Anemia. This is where your white blood cells, platelets and red blood cells stop growing and disappear. One out of a million people are diagnosed with this every year. His mother, Julie, has had to take leave without pay from work to care for Jordan 24/7 and the medical bills are stacking up. Jordan’s condition is so severe that he can no longer go to school, play sports or even be around groups of people because he is susceptible to catching a cold or getting injured and that could be fatal. He has to get blood and platelet transfusions almost every day. This leaves him bruised, weak and unable to do normal activities every time. Jordan and Julie have been traveling between home and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital since March 5th when Jordan was discharged as he continues to receive blood and platlets. Jordan is on about 10-15 medications a day and daily medication through IV as well. Please support COTA in honor of Jordan through this journey. Any support is not too little and no prayer is not unheard. He is so strong and we want to show we can be strong with him. #JordanStrong

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
