We have some good news to share concerning Ryders progress. In July Ryder had surgery to correct the misalignment in his knees and ankles. While we were hopeful the ankles would correct it was not likely that the knees would, but the surgery would prevent them from getting worse and needing a massive surgery to correct them when he was older. On December 3rd Ryder went in for a checkup a bit earlier than expected. Since dialysis and the growth hormones Ryder has grown and put on a considerable amount of healthy weight so X-rays were ordered to see his progress. The Dr was floored. In 4.5 months Ryder is almost completely corrected in the knees and ankles. Unfortunately this does mean the hardware has to come out as he will start to over correct as he continues to grow. Ryder will have more X-rays in March and we are prepping for surgery to remove them as well. Good news is this time the surgery will happen as an inpatient procedure at Stanford where Ryder will be fully and properly supported.
