Day 5 to 7

Taylor had a few rough nights needed several units of blood in the middle of the night. Day 5 hit and a scan was done to check her and try to figure out the blood situation. 6am hit and scan showed she had internal bleeding. TJs surgeons were called in and by 7am they were rushing her back to the OR.
T-minus 3 hours we got a call that Taylor was out of surgery. They opened her all the way up where her original incision was and that’s when Drs found 2.2 liters of coagulated blood on her right side near the back of the colon. Huge surprise to the drs as the colon is not touched during the initial TPIAT besides a slight move to get to head of pancreas. Literally a freak accident that even drs were shocked to see.

Since this set back TJ has been slower at getting back up as pain has been a bit more challenging to manage with the reopening of the incision. Yesterday TJ was able to stand up about 10 seconds to get her weight but beyond that the pain was too much to get her in a chair.
Today’s goal is to get her up in a chair and hopefully get the foley out again.
