April 1
It’s been an eventful day, full of visits from different medical teams, a trip to the sound booth, and a stop at the physical therapy gym. Here are some of the updates from today:
– We’re excited to report that this mornings blood work showed that Wesley’s GGT levels did drop slightly, which is a very positive sign and a huge answer to prayer! The liver team will of course continue to keep a close eye on all the liver enzymes, but after today’s results they feel confident that we should be on track for our scheduled discharge once the antibiotic regimen is complete. Thank you so much for praying last night!
– The neurology team went over the MRI results this morning and are pleased with how everything looks. As expected, there is a little inflammation in the membrane around the brain, but thankfully the brain itself looks good and is not inflamed. They anticipate that the inflammation will dissipate on its own over the next couple weeks, and we will follow up with them when we return for clinicals in May.
– Wesley also underwent a hearing test today, and he appears to have mild hearing loss caused by fluid in his ear. That also should dissipate in the next few weeks, and he should be back to normal hearing soon. We’ll follow up with ENT in 90 days, though they want us to notify them sooner if we notice any signs of hearing issues.
Thanks again for your continued prayers!
