- To be informed of the identity of those serving on our governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To have access to our most recent financial statements, including the past three years’ audit reports and tax returns.
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they are given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition for their financial contributions.
- To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
- To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
- To have the opportunity for their names to be reviewed, corrected or immediately deleted from mailing lists at their discretion by calling, writing or e-mailing their request.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
- To know that the Children’s Organ Transplant Association does not share, rent or sell our donors names, addresses or phone numbers and that no outside information is being collected or shared with outside agencies.
- To know that donor lists with address and phone information are shredded prior to disposal.
