Alex received a telephone call from Ryan Seacrest today!!!!!  (What an amazing guy!!)

Last week I made a video thanking the Cincinnati Children’s Ryan Seacrest Studio staff for playing such an integral role in Alex’s treatment and recovery, and also thanking Mr. Seacrest for making this possible.  Not only for Alex, but for all children.  I explained that because of the studio and their staff, Alex was able to not only cope through scary and painful treatments and procedures, but he also was able to feel like he had a purpose each and every day through this difficult journey.  He was able to make special connections and relationships (that usually and typically would be extremely difficult for him), feel special, empowered, loved, inspired, motivated, and most of all-he kept fighting.  We could not have done this without our studio family! 

I described Alex as a gift.  A tightly wrapped beautiful gift with a bow, and a key.  This key is extremely difficult to find, but when you find that key, untie that bow, and start unwrapping the gift-it’s magical!!  The Seacrest Studio found that key, unlocked, and unwrapped the gift, and discovered the magic of my superhero Alex. Piece by piece, and day by day.

My video was sent to Mr. Seacrest, and he was touched.  He explained to me during our conversation that this was exactly what the Ryan Seacrest studio was intended for and that it touched his heart to see the impact that it had made on our family.

I am so very touched and grateful for Mr. Seacrest’s phone call and thoughtfulness.  Especially during this difficult time for Alex.  Alex is truly the Ryan Seacrest Studio’s number one fan, and the studio staff will always hold that special key to Alex’s heart.
