Nurses Appreciation Week, celebrated May 6–12, feels especially meaningful to our family this year.

We want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all nurses—but especially those at Nationwide Children’s Hospital who have walked alongside us during Beau’s journey.
From the ER nurses who first cared for him, to the incredible teams on H11B and H5B, to the nurses in the OR and recovery rooms—you have all played such an important role in his care. And to our Liver Transplant Coordinators and the GI clinic team, who we talk to so often and rely on so deeply—thank you for always being there.
The love, compassion, and dedication you show Beau does not go unnoticed. You’ve been there for the hard conversations, the long days, and you’ve also brought light into those moments with laughter and kindness when we needed it most.
This journey hasn’t been easy, but because of you, we have never felt alone.
Thank you for caring for our boy. Thank you for supporting our family. And thank you for being part of this journey with us.
We are endlessly grateful.
