Happy new year!

Alessandro had a great new years…he was in his crib by 8:30pm. Smh. In the month of January Alessandro continued to improve on eating three meals a day and drinking a mixture of boost protein and whole milk. Both cardiac and pediatric team of doctors are amazed on how well he has been able to make their jaws drop. On top of that, the physical therapists have been helping him to walk with the Berlin cannulas.

We continue to wait for that donor heart that would give Alessandro a second chance at life. Alessandro was born with no signs of congenital heart disease, doctors feel that he had gotten sick at one point and that virus/infection stayed in his body and attacked his heart. Making his diagnosis of restricted cardiomyopathy(RCM) that much more rare. Other new born patients born with Heart disease or defects have a difficult time eating or let alone walk while being on the Berlin.
