Last night, Evelyn developed Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) — early, irregular heartbeats coming from the lower chambers of her heart that interrupt her normal rhythm. In her case, this could be related to her declining heart function or possibly the new medication changes.
Thankfully, after receiving magnesium chloride, the PVCs stopped and she hasn’t had any more episodes since. Because of that, we made the move over to the CVICU this afternoon instead of waiting.
But today was an Early Lilo & Stitch birthday party.

And honestly… she needed that joy more than anyone knows.
We had pizza, cupcakes, cakesicles, cookies, presents, close family, and friends all together celebrating our sweet girl. Watching her laugh, smile, run around, and just be a kid for a little while made our hearts so happy.
When we got back to the room, Evelyn took a shower, and the sweetest nurse gave her a much-needed haircut. It may seem like such a small thing, but seeing her freshened up in a new outfit and feeling good about herself after everything she’s been through meant so much.
For a few hours, the monitors, medications, and fear took a backseat to joy. And I’m so incredibly thankful for that.
