Post-LVAD Placement- One Step At A Time

Not a lot of big updates for today. Evelyn still remains sedated with an open chest. The team is very pleased with how her heart function looks as her body adjusts to the settings on her LVAD. Most of her labs have been coming back beautifully throughout the day, and her liver and kidney function are doing well.

Today was spent holding her hand, talking to her, and playing some of her favorite shows on TV. She had a little breakthrough in her sedation, but nothing causing her pain, she is completely comfortable. Our brave girl was even able to squeeze my finger when we asked her to. ❤️

Fingers and toes crossed that she will be ready for chest closure tomorrow morning. At the earliest, we may start to see her beautiful eyes Monday, maybe Tuesday, as they begin weaning the breathing tube. One step at a time, sweet girl. Thank you all for continuing to pray and love on Evelyn.
