There is so much importance in having siblings be a part of the support system during a long-term hospital stay. 
For Evelyn, Raylan has been a huge part of keeping her spirits up through all of this. Nearly a year in the hospital is a long time for anyone, especially a child, and sometimes the best medicine isn’t something that comes from a medication, it’s having your little brother there to make you laugh.
When these two are together, it’s just… normal.
It’s laughs, siblings picking on each other, playing, arguing over the little things, and then five minutes later acting like nothing happened. It’s the kind of childhood moments that Evelyn deserves to still have, even in the middle of everything she’s going through.
Today they played outside together, came inside for snacks, had dinner, and then cuddled up together to watch a movie.
Nothing extraordinary happened today but that’s okay. I think those moments mean more to Evelyn than we could ever fully understand.
