Recovering

Zeke did really well with his bladder surgery on February 26th. We discharged that Wednesday afternoon and got to spend a restful night in a hotel and go out to dinner just the 3 of us.

He is still in a some pain and we are giving him tylenol to help but it’s getting better.  He does have a drain in his vesicostomy, a hole directly into his bladder, and will get the drain and stitches out on Thursday here in Peoria at our doctors office.  I think the stitches pulling is really what is making him uncomfortable so I’m ready for them to come out.

After the drain comes out they are going to teach us  how to dilate the vesicostomy twice a day plus irrigate it will antibiotic solution too.  I wonder how that’s going to feel?  Hope it doesn’t hurt.  Poor buddy!

This month is National Kidney Month!  You can follow along with the Week of Zeke on our Facebook page for some fun facts.

Thank you all for praying for us on our trip and for our girls.  They had lot of fun with their Noni and Papa and we even got to take them to one of their favorite ice cream places when we picked them up.  Please continue to pray for healing and for upcoming lab work  for me (Katie) as we prepare further for the Kidney transplant.

With Love,

The Bells
